Cracks & Crevices
Anne Damgaard is a trained clothing designer, which is reflected in the artist’s exhibition in ‘Gl. Lade’ where we meet experimented textile and clothing constructions. The works are characterized by Damgaard’s interest in the relationships that exist between materials and space, between shape, matter, body, light and movement. Damgaard works in her installations with experimental photography. Using light and textiles, the photographs emerge as a kind of shadow images and create vibrant relationships between the spatial, the material and the intangible transparency. Anne Damgaard works with studies of the meeting between form, fabric, body, light and movement. She is keenly interested in exploring the possibilities and depth of textiles, and has, among other things, examined the encounters between different means of action such as video, photography and light projections in a form of illusory shadow play. In this way, Anne Damgaard transforms textiles, light and shadow into abstract image surfaces.
